StumpTown Kilts (STK) has been in business for more than ten years. We spent a year and a half in design and went through over 15 prototypes in order to get things just right. STK has been selling Men’s Kilts since 2011. We went back into design to create our Women’s Kilts in 2012. 



In 2009, a group of guys got together that wanted to create a better Men’s Kilt. We had all been wearing Kilts for sometime and wanted to improve upon the Modern Kilt. There were things we did not like about the Kilts we were wearing at the time, so we set out to create a Kilt we all wanted.  For both our Men’s and Women’s Kilts we turned to friends, family, and fellow kilt enthusiasts for their input and suggestions, which helped create the STK.
